Virtual Counseling and Advising Support

Virtual Counseling and Advising Support

PPEC Families

Student's academic and mental well being is very important to us especially during this time of COVID-19, social distancing, shelter in place orders, and full virtual schooling. We recognize it may be difficult to manage all of these changes and stress.  PPEC wants to emphasize that we are here if students need counseling support for social or emotional concerns.

Options for seeking support

  • You can let your teacher know you are having issues dealing with stress
    • They will help you connect with someone
  • You can email, text or call your counselor to let her know you need support.
  • You can reach out to our new Social Worker who will also be a great resource during this time.
  • Tell a trusted adult and they can help you make contact if you need assistance
  • If it is an emergency or you feel someone else's life might be in danger please make a report through Safe2Tell or call 911.

Counseling Support

We can offer students support in a variety of ways:

  • Email
  • Texting (our counselor and social worker have district cell phones)
  • Phone calls
  • Zoom sessions.
    • Zoom sessions with students for emotional counseling or check-ins will have 2 staff members present.

Parent Notification

If your student reaches out to a counselor for support, counselors will notify the parent via email to ensure you are aware they would like support. Parents will need to reply to the email to permit their student(s) to receive virtual counseling support.

Academic Advising

Mrs. Bonavita will continue her academic advising virtually via our Zoom platform.  Students who need to schedule some time to meet with her to discuss college classes or high school course registration for fall 2020 are encouraged to use this link to schedule an appointment.
