Inclement Weather Information

Pikes Peak Early College Two Hour Delay Schedule

  • Any time District 49 calls for a two-hour delay, we will CLOSE OUR CAMPUS. 

  • Our campus will be closed for all SPRINGS STUDIO AND PIKES PEAK EARLY COLLEGE students, and we will operate as an E-Learning Day.

  • Teachers will be available through Google Meet or phone if students need support.
    • Students are expected to complete additional work that is added to Google Classroom for their blended classes.
    • Students may also complete online work in Edgenuity.
    • Students may also complete online work in iXL.

Staff Work Hours

  • Teacher's hours of availability will be between 10:00 am - 3:00 pm MST

    • They will not be on campus for support.

College Courses

  • College classes held on The Campus will move to virtual sessions at their regularly scheduled class times.
  • College classes located at PPSC campus will continue as scheduled unless PPSC is on a 2 hour delay. Check the PPSC website for updates.

Pikes Peak Early College Snow Day Cancellation Schedule

  • Any time District 49 calls for a Snow Day, we will close our campus.

  • Our campus will be closed for all SPRINGS STUDIO AND PIKES PEAK EARLY COLLEGE students.

  • Classes regularly scheduled on campus will NOT be moved to an online platform.

  • Classes will be made up on the next on-campus day.

  • Students may continue to work in their Edgenuity and Google Classroom courses, but teachers are not available to provide support.

  • A snow day can be a great time to catch up with online work.


College Courses

  • In-person college classes will be canceled on The Campus. Students should check D2L for any assignments.
  • College classes located at PPSC campus will continue as scheduled unless PPSC is closed. Check the PPSC website for updates.

How to determine if we have a weather delay or closure:

  • D49 website - The D49 website will include weather information on the home page in the District Updates section.  In addition, you can look for a banner at the top of the home page that will provide a brief statement such as "delayed," "Delayed Monitoring, or "Closed."
  • Local TV stations - When winter weather hits, tune into any local TV station's newscast to view their weather delays/closure information.
  • Social Media - Stay connected regarding delays and closures on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.  Follow District 49 on each of these platforms to see current information.
  • Email/Text Messages - Be sure you have current contact information in our Student Information System to receive emails or text messages.  Check with your child's school to ensure they have up-to-date information.  If you do not receive an email or text when the weather is questionable, be sure to check other resources.
